The beautiful town of Highlands, North Carolina was established in 1875 and sits on a high plateau near the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains. It is a picturesque two hour drive from Atlanta, GA or Greenville, SC. With an average elevation of 4,118 feet, it is reputed to be the highest town east of the Mississippi River. Highlands enjoys wonderfully cool summers and its mountain elevation also produces abundant rainfall which creates lush temperate rain forests and magnificent waterfalls. The town of Highlands also offers great shopping, dining and fine accommodations from elegant to rustic.

Our quaint, country store is family owned and operated and located on Main Street where we hand-dip many chocolate items, paddle smooth and creamy fudge as well as dip our fresh apples into creamy caramel made right in the store. We also have 32 flavors of Kilwin�s Original Recipe ice cream that is sure to please in the winter or summer.
