Our Heritage chocolate is made from the same recipe developed by our founder back in 1947. We also use his original recipe for our hand-dropped, copper kettle-cooked caramel. Even our Original Recipe Ice Cream hasn’t been changed in almost 40 years, hence the name.

You can sink your sweet tooth into our chocolate truffles, creams, and TUTTLE™ Nut Caramels if you have a penchant for chocolate. Or, if you like some savory with your sweet, we offer our “Perfect” Caramel Apples, chocolate-covered nut clusters, and crunchy nut brittles.
When Don and Katy Kilwin opened up their first store back in 1947, their goal was to share their delicious sweets with their community. We’ve been hard at work ever since then, and now we can bring our menu to many more communities, including our Dahlonega chocolate store.
We’re proud to say that almost 80 years later, not much else has changed at Kilwins. We remain committed to providing the most delicious treats around, and our pursuit of perfection has only gotten stronger. Many of our recipes are the same as they were back when Don and Katy first got their start, and we still use some of the same equipment.
Our caramel is dropped by hand, our Mackinac Island Fudge is hand-paddled the traditional way on marble countertops, and many of our other candies are made by hand in our confectionary kitchen. We’ve always put quality above everything else. Sweets are just better when they’re made with love!

You might have heard of our Heritage Chocolate or made-in-house Mackinac Island Fudge, but we’re perhaps equally famous for our Original Recipe Ice Cream. Our ice cream is available in dozens of flavors with a wide range of toppings to help you build a truly unique creation. Kilwins ice cream is Kosher-certified and made from high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.
When we first created our Original Recipe Ice Cream in 1985, we knew we had something special but had no idea it would grow as large as it did. It became so popular that we knew we needed to give it a permanent place at all of our stores (which also meant needing a transport method).
Like many of our sweets, we’ve used the same Kosher-certified recipe for decades now. All of our flavors are made using milk and cream from local family farms, and many feature our made-in-house ingredients.
We’re committed to perfection at every step of the process, from making the ice cream to scooping it into your cone at our Dahlonega ice cream store. That’s why we use custom-designed ice cream tubs and our very own temperature-controlled ice cream transport vans to preserve the rich flavor and creamy texture our ice cream is known for.

Kilwins ice cream is made from only the best ingredients we can find, including many we make ourselves. Then, we bring our frozen desserts to our Dahlonega ice cream store in customized ice cream tubs in our custom Kilwins vans.
Our Heritage Chocolate is made in classic milk, dark, and white varieties. You can get pure bars of our Heritage chocolate or enjoy it in the form of chocolate truffles, creams, and caramels.
