Kilwins in Louisville is dedicated to keeping the memory of our founders, Don and Katy Kilwin, alive. Back in the 1940s, Katy and Don opened Kilwins and later realized their legacy would extend far beyond Michigan and the next few decades. We have been following in their footsteps for over 75 years, following their traditional candy-making process. To make the kinds of desserts we do, we need to maintain strict, ultra-high standards.
Luckily, quality control is easy for us since we make everything by hand. Our Mackinac Island Fudge (one of Don and Katy’s original recipes still in use today) is made on a marble tabletop just like Don intended. Chocolate Mackinac Island Fudge is probably our most famous, but we invite you to try a few more.
Kentucky is known for local foods and contributions to restaurants and recipe books all over the world. To hold our own and make our fellow Louisville residents proud, we use the best ingredients, near and far. For example, our creams and milk come from local farms while we travel to our go-to locations in Mexico, Asia, Hawaii, and more for our sea salt.
