Kilwins is thrilled to call Plymouth, Michigan, home. We have a soft spot for Michigan since we started not too far away in Petoskey. We’ve made a nearly endless supply of high-quality confections since we landed here. Kilwins chocolates are both beautiful and delicious.
Our chocolates are made the way our founders did in 1947. Don and Katy Kilwin created Kilwins with the belief that nothing compares to the joy of hand-made chocolates made and sold by people who care.
At Kilwins in Plymouth, MI, our famous Mackinac Island Fudge is made right in our store using traditional hand-paddling techniques. Watching hot fudge being poured on cool, white marble slabs feels almost magical. The marble cools the fudge, hardening into slices as a Kilwins baker pushes and pulls the fudge back and forth. This is how Mackinac Island Fudge was made in the 1940s and how we make it today.
One of our standout offerings is our caramel apples, which are as visually striking as they are delicious—which is why we call them "perfect." They start as flawless Granny Smith apples and are hand-dipped into our caramel sauce (The caramel is also made by hand.).

We own and operate Kilwins-only ice cream transport vans designed to maintain the perfect temperature that we can carefully monitor and adjust. When we control every aspect of the drive with our advanced cooling systems, nothing can threaten the integrity of our ice cream.
In addition to our specially equipped vans, we realized our ice cream tubs needed to be customized as well. We designed one-of-a-kind ice cream containers engineered to protect the texture and quality of our frozen treats. When we reduce the ice cream's air exposure and modify the traditional curvature of industry-standard ice cream tubs, we can prevent melting and freezer burn. Now, our chilled confections arrive fresh and creamy at the Downtown Plymouth ice cream store we're so proud of.
